Introducing the CICD girls...

As I said in an earlier blog, I worked alongside the girls that worked for the CICD...Community Intervention for Children with Disabilities. The girls teach the mothers and sisters of the disabled children how to take care of their daily needs despite their disability. Their goal is to get these children into the local school system. The girls teach the families of these children how to continue the physical therapy, speech therapy, etc. that they start on the children. They make their rounds from village to village checking up on each child. Many of the children are blind, have spina bifida, hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, downs syndrome, seizures, and many other debilitating problems or diseases.

I want you to meet the most wonderful, caring, compassionate people whom I have had the great privilege of knowing. I spent my entire day for the past 2 months with them! I have grown to love each one of them and miss them deeply!!! I have many fun memories and stories to share in the next several blogs.
