The first week...
During the first week of being in Gilgit, Pakistan, we had several classes on the culture -- what to do and what not to do and say! We learned about the different sects and groups of people, as well as had several hours of Urdu language class. We also toured the orphanage and the vocational school. The vocational school teaches the women sewing, embroidering, and knitting skills so they can make money and help their families.

The first week wasn't without it's issues...four of us got violently sick with food poisoning within 30min of each other! We were all making trips to the toilet -- a.k.a. ' the Squatty Potty'! God was with me though, and the entire time I was sick I could feel His Presence so strong! I would be sick in the Squatty and would be praising God and singing the entire time!! I am still amazed at that! God IS good!!!!
Ug...sickness!
