Shopping

As soon as we got to Gilgit, Alisha took us girls to the bazaar to find some material for our new suits. We had a great time going from one shop to the next and looking at all the material for sale. Once we picked out enough material to make 3-4 suits we then headed to the accessory shop where we picked out lace, ribbon, binding, etc. for our outfits. After the material and accessory shopping we headed to the local tailor to have our salwar kameez suits custom made. We soon learned that we needed to wash all the material before dropping them off at the tailor because they shrink and then the local women make fun of your crooked outfits! My first 3 suits shrunk, but the last 2 fit nicely! Next time I go, I will know what to do! lol

The BEST tailor in town! He did a great job, and even made some very fancy necklines!

JESUS Loves ME story:
It has always been very difficult for me to buy myself stuff. I can buy anyone else presents, but for some reason, I can't seem to buy anything for myself. The last day in Pakistan, I went through the small tokens I had for my family, and realized that I had not bought myself anything. I had wanted to wait until after I had my family bought for to buy anything for myself. I just knew after leaving Pakistan I would feel pretty bad about not having purchased anything for myself. I knew I had to buy something, and knew exactly what I wanted!

Late that evening, Bari, part-owner of the Guest House, hailed a taxi.
Bari took Alisha, Korine, and I to a 'cheep' bazaar -- one that was inexpensive. It was cheep alright...there was nothing there that I was hoping to buy. Most everything was imported from China and was poor quality trinket stuff. I felt disappointed that I was unable to find anything. Bari suggested we just go home cause the taxi cost money and the other bazaar was TOO expensive....but, Alisha decided we were going to the other bazaar and she would be happy to pay the taxi fare. Now that they were going just for me, I was having a harder time! (Yes, it is very hard for me to accept gifts too!)

As I was sitting in the back of the taxi with Alisha and Korine, God spoke to me so clearly. He told me that He loved me and wanted me to buy the jewrey that I had wanted and not to worry about how much it cost...just buy it! It wasn't but a few seconds later that Korine spoke up. She said, "Lisa, God just told me to tell you that He loves you SO much and thinks you are beautiful. He wants you to buy yourself something, and you are NOT to worry about the cost." I was overwhelmed! Jesus really was speaking to me and confirmed it with what Korine said!

Long story short, we looked all over the bazaar, and I couldn't find what I was looking for...then the power went out...it was after 10pm and I knew the shops would be closing soon...then we went to the last shop...a gentleman took us down to the basement of his shop which hadn't been opened all day...it was at least 120* in there and only big enough for about 2 people comfortably...and all 5 of us were crammed in there! There on the wall hanging was exactly what I had been looking for: a silver and blue lapis stone set. I put it on the counter, and immediately God said, "Another one". I looked back at the wall collection and immediately had my eye on another: turquoise and lapis. I placed that set onto the counter...and for the second time I heard, "Another one". I quickly picked out a pearl and lapis stone set. I was overwhelmed and completely amazed that God had me not only get myself 1 set, but 3!! And the cost was only about $20!!

When I got back, the rest of the team came out to see my purchases and to hear my story. YES, JESUS LOVES ME!!!!
