A call to Uganda!

JULY 22 - AUG 4

Soroti, Uganda

I am so excited for this opportunity to go to Uganda and learn yet another culture! I had just been talking to my mother about my strong desire to go overseas on missions work. The next day I got a message from my Pastor from PA asking if I was interested in going to Uganda! After praying about it, I believe it was the right thing to do! Now, I'm just counting down the days till I go! ☺

I will be part of a team of 10 people. We will be going into the town of Soroti for evangilism and church planting. Part of the process involved will be loving on the children by presenting drama's as well as sports clinics for them. There is also a possibility that we will be doing some construction at the local church. Thank God for this opportunity to minister to yet another nation!

This trip will cost approximately $2,500 - $3,000 and will cover round-trip airfare, transportation, food and lodging, construction materials, and materials for any outreaches.

Please pray and ask God if He would have you support and partner with me. If you want to support me financially and want a tax deduction, please make your checks payable to GLAD TIDINGS with my name in the memo. Mail checks to:

Glad Tidings Assembly of God
1110 Snyder Road
West Lawn, PA 19609

Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support. May God continue to bless you!

Easter is my favorite holiday! We all went to church and enjoyed the cantata that Joella was a part of. Great job, Joey!! We all really enjoyed the music and message. Mom outdid herself again with an amazing Easter dinner of mashed potatoes, gravy, ham, beans, and Yorkshire Pudding. Thanks mom!!

Time to find our Easter baskets...
David's basket was about as big as he is!

Jami found hers.

Me looking for mine...

I am finished my 6 week orientation for home hospice. I thank the Lord for providing 6 40hour weeks of orientation. The hours helped me earn enough $ to catch up on all my bills and get a few necessary items that I've needed for a while. Praise GOD! Now, I just need some work! Since I am PRN (as needed), I am not guaranteed any work!! My name was penciled in the schedule for 2 days this week, but I already had a call to cancel one of them!! The LORD knows this too, so I will wait on HIM to provide me the days I need.

Happy Robin

In the meantime, I have been enjoying the beautiful Spring days outside! Mom has hurt her back so Jami and I have been filling in and helping out with the weeding of the flower beds, mulching, and planting the garden. It has been so much fun!! I had been away for several years living in apartment complexes and never had the chance to get my hands dirty! I have been loving every minute of it! :)

Simon, our cat, loves it when we are out weeding! He keeps us company.

It's official!!!

Well, It is official...I am employed and just finished my second week of orientation. I am so grateful that Jesus provided for me...just in time. This is the first paid weeks of work in 2 years and 7 months!

God had me quit working back in July 2007 and embark on a Faith Journey with Him. What an adventure that was! I learned to put my faith and trust in Jesus knowing that HE would provide for my needs, and also realized that my identity was not in being a nurse but in Christ. I learned many other lessons along the way during those months and am so grateful to God to have that wonderful opportunity to learn and grow.

This first step of my Faith Journey is completed, but I believe that it was just the beginning. He has provided a way for me to pay my bills for now...however, I believe that this is only a temporary place. I believe my Faith Journey will continue on in a different way as I obey His calling for my life...

How GREAT is our GOD!

I have wanted to be married for as long as I can remember...wished for it...dreamed about it...hoped for it. I just turned 34 years old, and I am still single with no prospects in sight. I realized I was looking at marriage selfishly. I changed my focus to Jesus, asking HIM to romance me! I dare YOU to do the same!! My life has been dramatically different since I've done this. Each day, He does something special just for ME! He has been showing His love for me over and over again! It's been amazing to get my focus off of myself and getting married, and just focus on Jesus. He has truly romanced me!

He romanced me today with frozen fog. Here are some of the pictures that I captured today (click the picture to enlarge):

Yes, He IS No. 1 !!

I love that He surprised me in this picture with this water droplet!

What an Amazing Artist Our GOD is!! Such detail. Such beauty! His LOVE expressed.

Job offer

Happy 2010 everyone!

This week, I got a call from St Vincent offering me a PRN Home Hospice nursing position. The start date is not until 2/22 so that gives me some time to make sure this is the job for me. I have been praying, during the past 7 months of job searching, that God would close all doors He didn't want me to walk through. After months of searching, this PRN position is the only opportunity that has opened up for me.

I realized that after my interview for this position, I was not sure if it was something I really wanted. I sent a personal letter and resume to two different ICU managers in hopes that they would consider me as a potential employee. I did get an email from the ICU/PCU manager of Clarian West. She wanted to interview me and asked me to fill out an application. This was over a week ago.

One of my friends sent this quote to me: "When one door closes another one open. But we so often look so long and regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open up for us." -Alexander Graham Bell

I have been thinking that this is what I've been doing...looking at the doors that are closed instead of taking the door that God has opened up for me. HE knows my future and which job will be the best for me. Maybe with this PRN position, I will be able to have more freedom in taking mission trips?

God knows, and I am willing!! Jesus, THANK YOU for this wonderful job opportunity!! You are awesome and ALWAYS supply my needs! I love you!!
